The purpose of the Sausalito Youth Sailing Foundation is to support all charitable activities, including education of on-the-water boating activities, safety, and ameteur competition. The selection of scholarship recipients and operation of the Foundation shall be the responsibility of the entire board.

Article I, Section 1 of our bylaws

Each year SYSF desires to renew funding commitments to many local programs:

  • Sail Training Scholarships for deserving youth and Equipment Upgrades at the Sausalito  Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program
  •  Local youth sailing regattas
  • Scholarship funding for participants in the
  •  Spaulding Wooden Boat Center Youth Apprentice Program
  • Travel Expenses and Scholarship Funding for the Tamalpais High School Sailing Tea
  • Facilities upgrade at Cass Gidley Marina & Sausalito’s Dunphy Park

These and new grant requests total many tens of thousands of dollars each year. In order for SYSF to maintain funding, we need community’s support whether it is donated items for our Opening Day Silent Auction, purchases at our Sausalito Art Show Food Booth, or cash donations.
